Dale, Extramurally (from the series: The IT Analyst Gallery)

Dale Vile worked with me at Bloor Research for not-as-long-as-I-wanted, before moving on to other pastures. He’s worked at SAP, Sybase and Nortel, so you could say that he’s been through the mill, and even through the grind stones. He eventually founded Freeform Dynamics, which quickly became a rising and well respected analyst company. He posts to a collective blog on the Freeform Dynamics site, but also runs a specifically focused blog.

Here’s a quote from that blog:

“There is a difference, you see, between analysts being pleasant to each other on ‘the circuit’ and actually collaborating – by which I mean at the very minimum having an open and trusted exchange of information and ideas.”

Dale is right. There is a difference. Dale lives in the South of England, in the New Forest (which, I can only presume, was once a New forest). From there he is promoting a revolution in the way that industry analyst companies operate. The revolution will not be televised, but it will be blogged.
