The reason for this campaign is simply to keep track of global warming facts as they emerge and, if necessary, to draw attention to certain things. There is a single reason why I am doing this. There is a tendency amongst those make future projections and estimates to use straight line extrapolation. In other words they assume constant growth in a particular area (such as, perhaps, global temperature increase).

Unfortunately such straight line prediction proved completely wrong in respect of the melting of the Arctic ice cap. This year, scientists reduced previous estimates, which had suggested 2045 as the year when the Arctic ice cap would disappear in summer, by 32 years!! – to 2013.

I used to suspect that action to offset the consequences of Global Warming was woefully insufficient, now I’m completely convinced of it. It took me six months to get to this point.
