This is a collection point for articles on AV Testing. MY personal view is that AV testing results have the hilarious outcome of demonstrating that all AV products tested fail to stop some viruses - in other words they do not work, as opposed to whitelisting products which would always score 100% on an AV test of the kind that AV Testing companies use.

However, if we set the AV effectiveness issue aside for a moment, I was alerted (by a mole) that soem AV testing activity was of questionable validity. I wrote it up the details (mostly using the mole’s words) in an article entitled:

Is AV Testing Corrupt?

This set the cat amongst the pigeons, as it was read widely and caused an amount of angst among AV companies. The AV company, Sophos, even rang me to get me to confirm that the AV mole was not in their organization.

Later on, the mole gave me a report on the private reaction of some of the AV companies to “Is AV Testing Corrupt?”
